Montserrat Tour: the Holy Hill of Catalonia

The Montserrat Tour is a perfect break: part of the short one-hour drives up and down the hill are scenic drives; the place is alive and authentic and important in the daily life of the Catalans.
The Shrine to the Black Virgin is a powerful spiritual spot attracting pilgrims and devotees from all over the world. An overwhelming experience!

The religious aspect is not the only point of interest, though, as Montserrat also offers easy-to-walk hiking paths overlooking the 3.000 ft deep valley and an interesting Museum, not to mention its Basilica, rather unique in style.

NO TOURS on Sundays and special holidays such as December 25 & 26 and January 1 & 6.

Duration: 4 hours approx.

Drive from Barcelona to Montserrat via Monistrol. Guided walking tour of the premises; free time to visit the Black Virgin's Chamber, the Museum or even take a short walk. Drive back via El Bruc, on the other side of the hill.
